PrimalNature.org absorbed the site Old-Growth.org and the Eastern Old Growth Clearinghouse. The new site continues to cover eastern old-growth forests (also known as ancient, original, or primary forests) but also presents information about other primary ecosystems in eastern North America. In 2008 we enlarged the coverage further to include a section on Big Wilderness, which is not limited to the east.

PrimalNature is a project of Ecoperspectives, which is, in turn, a project of Earth Island Institute in San Francisco, California. Its goal is to further the preservation and restoration of original/primary ecosystems
